Dragon Egg with a Dragon Inside: All Four Sizes

A dragon egg sounds like decoration. Ours is packaging — the egg opens and an articulated dragon comes out. That is why these work twice as well as a plain figure: they get unwrapped twice.

We print them ourselves in Poland, in four sizes. This page is the overview: what each size does, what is inside, and what it is good for.

How a dragon egg works

The egg is two shells that twist into each other — no glue, no clasp, nothing that can break. The dragon sits folded inside and is already articulated when it comes out: it is printed in one piece with the joints in place. There is nothing to assemble and nothing to lose.

You cannot tell the dragon's colour from the egg. That is deliberate, and it is half the point.

The four sizes

• Baby dragons in eggs, 10 cm — the smallest, sold as a three-pack. Fits a pencil case or a party bag.
• Winged dragon in an egg, 23 cm — wings, tail and body all articulated, in a 12 cm egg. The one most often bought as a gift.
• Chinese dragon in an egg, 30 cm — long segmented body that coils around things.
• Dragon in an egg, 36 cm — the largest, in a 12 cm egg. Pulling it out looks like it never fit in there.

Which size for which age

Honest answer from our orders: the 23 cm version is the safe choice for children from about six — big enough to impress, small enough for a shelf. The 36 cm one usually goes to collectors and older children. The three-packs of baby dragons almost always end up at birthdays or in school bags.
