Gaming Room Ideas: Wall Decor, Desk and Cable Tidy

Most gaming room ideas start with a new desk and a wall of light panels. Ours start smaller. Whether it is a whole room or one corner of a bedroom, a setup usually looks messy for three reasons: a bare wall, gear lying loose on the desk, and cables on the floor.

  • Wall: a few small pieces in one group look better than many spread across the room.
  • Desk: every loose item gets one fixed spot at the edge, so the middle stays free for keyboard and mouse.
  • Cables: one route down from the desk, and a power strip that is fixed in place.

Gaming room decor ideas for the wall: dragon heads

Wall decor in a gaming room usually means posters or a neon sign. We print something different: small dragon heads styled like hunting trophies from a fantasy world. The snout points down, the horns rise up and the flat back sits against the wall, so the dragon seems to lean out of it.

They are small on purpose. The Crystal head is 9.8 cm high and weighs 46 g, so three or five of them fit in the space above a monitor. Every motif comes in black, white, silk gold and silk silver. One colour for the whole group looks calm; mixed colours look like a collection. If you want one large statement piece for the wall, this is not the right product.

Mounting is simple: fix the head to a smooth wall with double-sided tape or self-adhesive hook-and-loop strips. Neither is included, so choose a type that suits your wall. The heads are indoor decoration; keep them away from radiators and other heat sources.

The desk: a fixed spot for controller, headset and phone

The controller stand is a low curved base, 8.6 × 7.4 × 4.8 cm, that gives the gamepad one place beside the monitor or console. It fits Switch Pro, Xbox and PlayStation DualSense and DualShock controllers. It is an independent accessory, not a product of Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony, and the controller is not included.

The headphone stand is a 25 cm arch on two feet: the headband of over-ear headphones rests on top and the ear cups hang free on both sides. The phone stand holds a phone upright or on its side. It has no charging function and we do not declare a fit for specific models, so compare the dimensions with your phone and its case.

Cable tidy ideas: lift the power strip off the floor

The power strip is the centre of every cable mess. Everything ends in it, and it lies exactly where feet and the vacuum cleaner go. The simplest of all cable tidy ideas is to lift it.

Our power strip holders grip a strip at both ends. A set has 4 holders, which is 2 pairs for 2 strips, and one holder in each pair has a cut-out, so the switch stays within reach. Mount them under the desk, on the wall or beneath a worktop with screws suited to the surface. Screws and power strips are not included.

  • Check the fit first: the holders are made for standard EU power strips with type E/F sockets.
  • Fix the strip where plugs are easy to reach but out of sight, usually at the back under the desktop.
  • Lead all cables down along one desk leg instead of several.
  • PLA softens at high temperatures, so keep the holders away from heat sources.

The shelf: a small stage for figures

If there is a shelf next to the desk, the Crystal Cave display stand gives it a centre. It is an open grotto, 19.1 × 19.1 × 12.8 cm, with walls of crystal spikes and room inside for a dragon figurine or a few small figures. It stands on a flat surface and is not made for the wall. The figurine is not included.

Questions about setting up a gaming room

Do I have to drill holes for the dragon heads?

No. The flat back sits flush against a smooth wall and the head is fixed with double-sided tape or self-adhesive hook-and-loop strips. You buy these separately; the heads weigh between 33 and 89 g, so choose a type rated for that weight and for your wall.

Which controllers fit the controller stand?

Switch Pro, Xbox and PlayStation DualSense and DualShock controllers. The stand is an independent accessory, not a product of Nintendo, Microsoft or Sony.

Do the power strip holders fit every power strip?

They are made for standard EU power strips with type E/F sockets. We do not declare a fit for other types, such as UK strips with type G sockets. A single holder measures about 6.1 × 4.9 × 3 cm, so compare that with the end of your strip.
