Gifts for Brother: Ideas for a Younger and an Older Brother

5 min read Updated October 4, 2026 By Kahaus · printed in Poland

In short

A younger brother under 14: a winged dragon in an egg, a dragon egg fidget, the gear ball or the infinity cube. Nothing labelled 14+.
A brother of 14 or older: the 12-in-1 fidget board, the karambit spinner (no blade) or the Dummy 13 figure kit.
A grown-up brother: something for his desk or shelf, like the 33 cm skeleton dragon or the Magic Gateway phone stand.

Gifts for brother lists usually pretend that "brother" is one person. In practice it is a nine-year-old who wants something to fiddle with in class, a sixteen-year-old who rolls his eyes at toys, or a thirty-year-old who says he needs nothing.

We print everything below ourselves in Poland, from PLA, and we sort it by age first: some of our pieces are labelled 14+ and do not belong in a younger brother's hands.

A gift for a younger brother (under 14)

For a younger brother it has to do something and survive being carried around.

Winged dragon in an egg, 23 cm, with a 12 cm egg. The dragon is movable and sits inside the egg until it is opened, so the unwrapping is part of the gift.
Dragon egg fidget, 7 cm. Pull the top and the scaled shell unwinds into a long spiral, twist it back and it is an egg again. It is quiet and fits a pencil case.
Gear ball, 8 cm across: a logic sphere you turn and scramble, then have to put back in order.
Infinity cube, 8 cm long, eight small cubes on hinges that fold on and on with no loud clicking.

Dragon egg fidget unwound into a long scaled spiral in one hand, the closed green egg in the middle and a small blue one in an open palm — Dragon egg fidget, 7 cm: pull the top and it unwinds, twist it back and it is an egg again. See the product →

If you want a year-by-year sorting for a brother between 6 and 12, we have done that in detail in gifts for kids 6 to 12, sorted by age. More ideas for this age are in Gift Ideas.

Safety: our figures and fidgets have small moving parts and are not suitable for children under 3. Keep that in mind if the youngest sibling is still a toddler.

A gift for an older brother: the teenager, 14 and up

At fourteen a "toy" is an insult, but a mechanism is not. This is where the 14+ pieces come in.

12-in-1 fidget board, about 9.8 by 7.2 cm, phone-sized, with twelve mechanisms: slider, dial, ratchet, gear, springs. It is labelled not suitable for children under 14.
Karambit spinner, 21 cm, shaped like a curved karambit with a finger hole and a ball bearing. No blade and no cutting edge; it is for spinning and practising grips. It still looks like a knife, so check the school rules first.
Dummy 13 figure kit (design: Soozafone). The parts come on two sprue cards, you snap them out and together with no glue or tools, and the finished figure stands about 13 cm and holds almost any pose. Lots of small parts, so we treat it as a gift for a teenager, not a small child.

Karambit fidget spinner with a black grip and a curved yellow-green section held in a hand, a sketch of the spin and six colour versions — Karambit spinner, 21 cm, no blade, for a brother of 14 or older. See the product →

Gold and black Dummy 13 poseable figure held in a hand, with the same figure in three action poses around it — Dummy 13 kit, 13 cm, snapped together by hand. The stand in the photo is not included. See the product →

For a grown-up brother: something for his desk

An adult brother usually has everything he needs, so aim at what he sees every day: his desk or his shelf.

Skeleton dragon, 33 cm long with a 26 cm wingspan, printed in place in one piece. Body, tail and wings bend independently, so he can set it in any pose on a shelf or desk.
Magic Gateway phone stand, 19 cm high, shaped like the ruins of a fantasy archway. With a matching wallpaper on the phone it looks like a portal. It fits most phones up to about 16.5 cm.
Gravity knife fidget, about 7 cm, one snap-action flip with the wrist, then shut again. Pocket-sized and quiet.

For a brother who works at a desk all day, there are more ideas in Fidget Toys for Adults and Desk Gadgets.

Small gifts for brother: add-ons and pocket money presents

An add-on to a bigger present, or something a younger sibling can pick out for an older one.

Keychain set: a 12 cm flexi shark skeleton and a mini karambit spinner with a bearing, in eight colours. One goes on his keys, the other in a pocket. We treat the set as 14+: sold on their own, both keychains are labelled not for children under 14.
Fidget spiral set of three: three twisting spirals, quiet enough for school or the office.

Not sure which kind of fidget suits him? Our guide to choosing a fidget toy goes through the types one by one.

What we would not give a younger brother

Anything labelled 14+, such as the mini articulated dragon 8-pack, the 12-in-1 board and the keychains, stays with the older brother. And the knife-shaped fidgets, the karambit and the gravity knife, are blunt and have no blade, but they are meant for adults and teenagers. They look like a knife, and that is not what a primary school needs.

Questions about gifts for brothers

What is a good small gift for a brother?

For under 14, the dragon egg fidget or the infinity cube. For 14 and up, the keychain set with the shark and mini karambit.

Do these gifts need batteries or assembly?

No batteries. The dragons and fidgets arrive ready to use, most of them printed in one piece with the joints already in place. The exception is the Dummy 13 kit, which he snaps together by hand, with no glue or tools.

Are the knife-shaped fidgets real knives?

No. The karambit and the gravity knife have no blade and no cutting edge. They still look like knives, so check your school's rules and local regulations before carrying one outside the house.
