Small 3D printed gifts for stockings and Secret Santa: baby dragons in eggs, an infinity cube and a dragon egg fidget

Stocking Fillers and Secret Santa Gifts from the 3D Printer

In short

  • Good stocking fillers are small, sturdy and fun to unwrap. Printed pieces tick all three and need no batteries.
  • For kids: baby dragons in eggs and 6 cm mini animals. For Secret Santa at work: the infinity cube and the quiet spinners.
  • Order early. We print in Poland and ship in 24–48 h, but December post is December post.

Stocking fillers are the hardest part of Christmas shopping. The big present is decided in November; the stocking gets filled on the 23rd with whatever is left near the tills, and half of it is forgotten by Boxing Day.

We print small things for a living, in Poland, on our own machines. So this is our honest list of what works in a stocking, in a Secret Santa bag at the office, or as a small extra next to the main present, and what does not.

Why small printed pieces make good stocking fillers

A stocking has three rules, even if nobody writes them down. Things have to fit, they have to survive being rummaged through on Christmas morning, and they should be worth unwrapping.

  • They fit. Most of what we list here is between 6 and 12 cm. Only the claw (18.5 cm) and the star wand (about 30 cm) are longer.
  • They survive. The moving parts are printed in one piece with the joints already in place. Nothing to assemble, no glue joint to break, nothing to lose under the sofa.
  • No batteries, no noise. Nothing here needs charging, and most of it is quiet enough to play with during the King's speech.

And unlike sweets, they are still around in February.

For kids: something to open twice

With children, the unwrapping is the gift. The best stocking fillers for kids have a second surprise built in.

  • Baby dragons in eggs, 10 cm, three-pack. The egg twists open and an articulated dragon comes out. You cannot tell the colour from the egg, which is half the point. A three-pack also splits nicely between three stockings.
  • Mini animal figures, 6 cm: fox, axolotl, crocodile and more, ten animals to collect and swap. Small enough for the toe of the stocking.

Secret Santa gifts for colleagues and fidgety hands

Secret Santa at work has its own problem: you often draw someone you barely know. A desk toy is a safe bet, because almost everyone fiddles with something during a long call.

  • Infinity Cube, 8 cm. It folds through itself endlessly, and it is the quietest folding action we have managed.
  • Rose Spinner, 8 cm, and Crystal Spinner, 7 cm. Both turn on a printed axle with no bearing, so they spin silently. Good for open-plan offices.
  • Karambit keychain spinner, 6.5 cm, blunt, no blade. Honest note: it has a steel ball bearing, and bearing spinners make a faint whirr. Fine at a desk, less so in a meeting.
  • Desk claw, 18.5 cm, print-in-place. Longer than most items here, so better for a Secret Santa bag than a stocking.
  • Star Wand Card Holder, about 30 cm and 80 g, printed to order in two-tone silk PLA with carved hearts and a five-pointed star. The star has a recess for a contactless card or payment sticker, so you take out the wand and tap to pay. Five finishes (blue-green-purple, red-yellow-green, gold, white and sakura pink), for the colleague who likes kawaii or cosplay. Longer still than the claw, so it belongs in a Secret Santa bag, not a stocking.

If the Secret Santa limit is 15 €, the spinners leave room to add a second small thing. The full range for grown-ups is under Fidget Toys for Adults.

For dragon fans of any age

Every family has one. For them, two small pieces work well in a stocking:

  • Dragon egg fidget, 7 cm. It twists open along a spiral, so it is a fidget toy and a small egg at the same time.
  • 3D dragon figure, in its smallest size of 10 cm, articulated. The same dragon also comes in larger sizes if the stocking turns into a main present.

Who gets what: a quick guide

Who What Why
Younger child Baby dragons in eggs, 10 cm Unwrapped twice, the colour is a surprise
Child who collects Mini animals, 6 cm Fits the toe of a stocking, ten to collect
Colleague you barely know Infinity Cube, 8 cm Quiet, at home on any desk
Open-plan office Rose or Crystal Spinner No bearing, spins silently
Adult with restless hands Karambit keychain spinner, 6.5 cm Lives on the key ring, always within reach
Dragon fan Dragon egg fidget, 7 cm A dragon egg you can fidget with

Practical tips: timing, wrapping, mixing

  • Order early. We print on our own machines and ship in 24–48 h. What happens after that is up to the December post, so do not leave it to the last week.
  • Wrap the egg anyway. The dragon eggs are their own packaging, but a bit of tissue paper keeps the first surprise for the stocking.
  • Mix two or three. One figure, one fidget and something sweet make a stocking that feels full. Three identical fidgets for three children avoid arguments.

Safety: the figures have small moving parts and are not suitable for children under 3.

Questions about stocking fillers

Will they fit in a normal Christmas stocking?

Yes. Most items here are 6 to 12 cm. The desk claw, at 18.5 cm, fits a stocking but not a shoe.

Are they quiet enough for a shared office?

The Rose Spinner, Crystal Spinner and Infinity Cube are. The karambit keychain has a steel bearing and makes a faint whirr.

Do the figures need to be assembled?

No. The moving parts are printed in one piece, with the joints already in place. You free them once with a gentle bend.
