3D Printed Halloween Decorations That Outlast 31 October

Most 3D printed Halloween decorations you find online are like the rest of Halloween stuff: built for one night, then into a box or the bin on 1 November. Ours are made so that they keep working afterwards. A pumpkin still looks right in November, and a skeleton dragon looks good on a shelf in March.

We print everything ourselves in Poland, from PLA, and ship within 24–48 hours. Halloween is on 31 October, so there is still time. Below: what we have, where to put it, what stays up after the night itself, and a few safety points.

What we have for Halloween

Two kinds of pieces work in October. The creepy ones are our articulated animals, which you can pose. The classic ones are ghosts, skulls and pumpkins, some of them made to hold an LED tealight.

Decor ideas by place

Shelf and bookcase

A shelf is where the articulated animals do their best work. Pose the tarantula as if it is climbing out between two books, or let the skeleton dragon stand guard at the end of a row. Put a skull next to it and the shelf is done. The tarantula, placed in a corner where someone notices it late, is the most effective piece we make.

Dining table

For a table, go low and in a line so people can still see each other. The Halloween set of ghost, skull and pumpkin tealight holder does this on its own. For a softer, more autumnal look, the autumn set with tray and a few ribbed pumpkins work well.

Windowsill

A window is seen from both sides, so shapes that read as a silhouette work best: the ghost, a pumpkin lantern with an LED tealight inside, the skeleton dragon in profile. Many of our figures come in several colours; for a window, darker ones stand out more against the evening light.

Kids' room, without the scary part

Children often want Halloween in their room but not spiders. The ghost, the pumpkins and the T-rex skeleton (bones, but funny rather than macabre) give the room some October mood without keeping anyone awake. Leave the tarantula and the scorpion for the living room.

For the wall and the chest of drawers: dragon heads and a pumpkin box

Not everything has to stand on a shelf. Our two dragon heads hang like a hunting trophy from a fantasy world: flat back against the wall, snout down, horns up. The Hollow dragon head (8.2 cm high, about 10 cm wide) has a ghostly, hollowed-out look that suits Halloween without any help. The Void Sea dragon head (9 cm high) mixes the deep sea with outer space and looks most mysterious in black. Either one works as a small trophy next to a door, above a chest of drawers or on the hallway wall. You fix them with double-sided tape or hook-and-loop strips, which are not included, so pick a smooth, clean and dry patch of wall.

The pumpkin trinket box is 8 cm high and 6.1 cm across. It opens into two halves: a small bowl below, a domed lid with the stem on top. On a chest of drawers it holds a ring, earrings or a few coins and still looks like a pumpkin. It is decoration, not a food container, so the sweets stay in the bowl next to it.

Pumpkins and light: LED tealights only

Our pumpkin lantern (9 cm), the tall pumpkin (16 cm) and the small pumpkin tealight holder (4.6 cm) are made for LED tealights. Please use them only with LED tealights, not with real candles: they are printed from PLA, which is a plastic, and an open flame does not belong inside.

The ribbed decorative pumpkins, including the butternut pumpkin (11.5 cm), are pure decoration and do not hold a light. The set of three is described as shatterproof, which helps on a busy table or within reach of a cat.

What stays up after Halloween

This is where printed decor makes more sense than the one-night kind.

Pumpkins and the autumn set keep working well into November. Take away the ghost and skull on 1 November and the table simply turns into autumn decor.
Dragons stay all year. The skeleton dragon sits between Halloween and fantasy, so it does not look out of place in spring. More in Dragons.

When to order

We print to order, and we ship within 24–48 hours. For a party on 31 October, ordering by mid-October is comfortable. For the larger pieces or several sets at once, a week earlier is the safer choice.

Safety: the articulated animals have small moving parts and thin legs, and some decor pieces are small. None of it is suitable for children under 3 years. Keep the tealight holders for LED tealights only.

Frequently asked questions

Can I put a real candle in the pumpkin lantern?

No. The lanterns and holders are made for LED tealights, and PLA is a plastic. Use a battery LED tealight: it gives a warm glow without an open flame.

Is this decor too scary for small children?

Some of it, yes. The tarantula is meant to startle. For a kids' room we would choose the ghost, the pumpkins and the T-rex skeleton, which are more fun than frightening.
