Looking for gifts for a 6 year old girl, you quickly land on lists that split the toy shop into pink and blue. We think that misses the point. At six, what lands is a surprise, an animal she can give a name to and something small enough to carry around all day, whatever colour it comes in.

We print everything ourselves in Poland, and this list is deliberately short. It only includes products whose description sets no 14+ limit, with sizes in centimetres, so you know what you are wrapping. If the child is a little older, our gifts for kids 6 to 12, sorted by age go further.

At six, the unwrapping is the gift

A six-year-old opens a present fast and then wants to know what else it does. A figure hidden inside an egg answers that: it is unwrapped once from the paper and a second time from the shell.

The dragon inside is printed in one piece with the joints in place, so wings, tail and body move straight away and there is nothing to assemble. It is light and easy to hold in small hands. Animals to collect, sort and swap

Six is also the age of collections. Small figures get lined up, sorted by colour, given names and swapped with friends.

Colour is her choice, not a rule

We are often asked for something pink for a girl. Some girls want exactly that, others want a black dragon or a gold one, and a six-year-old usually has a very clear opinion either way. It is her choice, not a rule that comes with the age.

The winged dragon comes in gold, black, red-yellow-green and blue-green-violet.
The mini animals each have their own colour: the pig in pink silk, the narwhal in pastel green, the bear in white, the cat in silver silk, the fox in orange.
The snake in an egg comes in black, gold, red-yellow-green and blue-green-violet.

If you do not know her favourite, choose by the animal rather than the colour, or pick the egg with ten animals, where every figure is different.

What we leave off this list

Some of our flexi animals look as if they were made for a six-year-old, for example the bunny and the axolotl in sakura pink. Their descriptions say they are not suitable for children under 14, so they do not belong here, however cute they are. The same goes for our 16-piece mini dragon set and the shark keychain.
