Halloween table at dusk: 3D printed ribbed pumpkins, slatted skull, ghost and a pumpkin lantern and holder lit by LED tealights on a linen runner

Halloween Table Decorations: Indoor Decor Without Real Flames

5 min read Updated By Kahaus · printed in Poland

In short

  • Keep the decor low and along the middle of the table, so guests can see each other and there is still room for the dishes.
  • A rough guide: one set of three for a small table, five to seven pieces for six people, two mirrored groups for a long table.
  • The light comes from LED tealights only. Our lanterns and holders are printed from PLA and are not made for a real flame.

Good Halloween table decorations do two jobs: they set the mood when guests walk in, and they stay out of the way once the food arrives. This guide is about indoor Halloween decor for the table: how to lay it out, how many pieces you need and how to light it without a real candle.

Spiders on the bookshelf and a ghost in the window are covered in 3D Printed Halloween Decorations That Outlast 31 October. Everything below is printed by us in Poland from PLA.

How to lay a Halloween table

Start with a base. A linen runner or a plain tablecloth down the middle gives the decor one line to follow, so the pieces do not look scattered.

Then build a low line along the centre:

  • Tall pieces at the ends or in the middle, never right in front of someone's face. The tall pumpkin (16 cm) and the butternut pumpkin from the set of three pumpkins (15 cm) are our tallest table pieces.
  • Group in threes. A tall, a medium and a small piece next to each other look arranged.
  • Leave gaps for the dishes. Decor that has to be moved every time someone passes the bread ends up on the windowsill anyway.
  • One colour, several shapes. Our sets come in one colour per set (beige, black, orange or white), so a ghost, a skull and three pumpkins in the same colour look calm rather than busy.

How many pieces for which table

This is what we would put down:

Table Pieces What we would use
Small table, 2 to 4 people 3 The Halloween set: ghost (12 cm), skull (9 cm) and a pumpkin tealight holder
Dining table, 4 to 6 people 5 to 7 The autumn set with tray in the middle, with the set of three pumpkins or a ghost on either side
Long table, 8 people or more 8 to 12 Two mirrored groups, each around a lantern, and a tall pumpkin at each end
Coffee table or sideboard 3 to 4 One set of three, or the tray set on its own

The autumn set with tray is the easiest centre for a dining table: an oval ribbed tray (19.7 × 12.3 cm) with a pumpkin lantern and a pumpkin tealight holder standing on it, and a decorative pumpkin beside it. The tray keeps the lit pieces together, so the group moves in one go.

Light: LED tealights instead of candles

PLA is a plastic that softens above roughly 55 °C, and a flame inside a pumpkin does not belong next to a linen runner and paper napkins. Our lanterns and holders are made for battery LED tealights only. LED tealights are not included.

Which of our pieces take a light:

The set of three pumpkins, the butternut pumpkin (11.5 cm) and the ribbed decorative pumpkin (5.7 cm) hold no light. Two or three glowing points per group are enough. For the same 55 °C reason, keep all pieces away from hot pans and out of the dishwasher.

Three looks for the same table

Quiet and minimal

Everything in one colour, beige or white, on linen: the Halloween set plus the set of three pumpkins. It suits a Japandi, Scandinavian or boho room.

Classic orange and black

Orange pumpkins, a black ghost and skull, a dark tablecloth. The single pieces come in more colours than the sets (oak, olive or silk gold, among others), so you can build your own mix.

Gothic, for a grown-up party

Black pieces on dark wood, and one guest nobody invited: the articulated tarantula with its 20 cm leg span at the corner of the table, or the skeleton dragon (33 cm) lying along the runner with its wings spread. After the party both move to a shelf. More in Dragons and Flexi Animals.

When to put it out, and what stays after

The pumpkins are autumn decor too, so they can stay on the table from September to the end of November. The ghost and the skull come out in the last week of October and go back in the box on 1 November.

We print to order and ship within 24–48 hours. For a dinner on 31 October, ordering in the first half of October leaves plenty of room. All seasonal pieces are in Halloween & Autumn, ready-made combinations in Sets.

These are indoor decorations, not toys; the single pieces are marked for ages 14 and up. Lanterns and holders are for LED tealights only, never a real flame.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a real tealight if I keep an eye on it?

No. The lanterns and holders are printed from PLA, which softens above roughly 55 °C. Use a battery LED tealight: the glow is similar and nothing can catch fire.

How many decorations do I need for a table of six?

Five to seven pieces: the autumn set with tray in the middle and a set of three pumpkins or a ghost on either side.

What if something gets knocked over during the party?

Our sets are light and will not shatter like ceramic or glass. Handy on a busy table or within reach of a cat.
