A leaving gift for a colleague has an awkward job: it has to say thank you without getting too personal, and it has to fit into a bag already full of desk plants and mugs. The same goes for most gifts for coworkers, whether it is a farewell, an office birthday or a thank-you for covering your shifts.

What makes a good leaving gift for a colleague

Small. On the last day people carry home a box of their things. A gift of 7 to 12 cm fits into a jacket pocket.
Not too personal. Perfume and clothes are a gamble even with friends. Something for the desk is safe: everyone has one, at the old job and the new one.
With a story. The best farewell gifts point at something the team shared: the endless calls, the windowsill plants, the running joke about who deserves a medal.

A mini trophy for the last day

Our favourite leaving gift is also the simplest: a gold mini trophy cup with a star. It comes off the printer in one piece, with no glue and nothing to assemble. Hand it over at the farewell coffee with a made-up category, "Chief Spreadsheet Rescuer" or "Keeper of the Office Plants", and it will outlast any card.

Four sizes: S 3.5 cm in a set of 10, M 5 cm in a set of 5, L 7 cm in a set of 3 and XL 10 cm as a single cup. For one person, take the XL. For a team farewell or an office birthday, the set of ten means everyone gets an award, including whoever organised the collection.

A small vase for the plant person

Every office has one colleague who keeps the windowsill alive. For them we would choose a small vase for dried flowers: the ribbed Japandi vase is 9.6 cm high and 6.4 cm wide, the Shizu vase 12.4 cm high and about 7.4 cm wide. Both fit next to a monitor and come in ten colours, from beige to sakura pink.

For busy hands and long calls

Spent half their working life in meetings? Give their hands something to do at the new job. Office birthdays, thank-yous and Secret Santa

For an office birthday, one small thing is enough: a spinner or a small vase says "we remembered" without a fuss. As a thank-you to someone who covered for you, a single L or XL trophy says it more clearly than a card.

Giving it on the last day

Order with a margin. We print to order and ship in 24–48 h, but the post needs its days too.
Add a card. Two or three lines from the team matter more than the object. With a trophy, write the award category on the card.
